Voodles and Foodles, What exactly are they?!
Yesterday I gave you an amazing recipe on apple foodles. I hope that you’ve tried it and enjoyed every last foodle of it! Today we are going to chat a bit about why voodling is a good idea.
I am Italian and grew up on homemade pasta noodles and I don’t miss them at all. I give my mother a heart attack every time she tries to feed me pasta when I visit her and I kindly refuse. I’ve resorted now to just accept the plate of her pasta and discreetly shove it onto my husband’s plate. She simply doesn’t understand and finds it offensive that her pasta and any pasta in the world makes me feel achy, foggy brained and fatigued.
Voodles and Foodles help promote a healthy weight. My favorite reason for voodling is that it provides you with more veggies in your day. More veggies means more energy producing vitamins, minerals and fiber and less energy robbing sugar and gluten. Voodles are satisfying because they give you that crunch you are used to so you don’t crave the starches which spike your insulin. Eating more vegetables also means, for most people, losing weight. Isn’t that fun!!!
We are creatures of habit and if your habit is eating pasta with sauce then simply substitute the pasta with Voodles and use your typical sauce. It’s that simply and when you decide to go on the wild side you can explore all the other fun voodle recipes out there.
