When it comes to the relationship between our gut and our health, everything is related, including what we eat and the supplements we take. When we consume whole foods from Mother Nature versus fast  foods your gut microbiome begins to work for us, so we digest foods more efficiently and crave fewer sugars.

Fact: It’s important to manage stress and to have nurturing personal relationships as well as a meaningful career. These contribute to a joyful life. When things are stressful, at home or at work, it can be difficult to make healthy dietary choices, maintain a proper weight, or get a good night’s sleep. There are so many daily activities to juggle, and there may be factors that cannot be controlled. However, you can FIND POWER IN POSITIVITY. Out of all the things you cannot control, there remains the one thing you can control: your perspective. Is it easy? Not always, but it can be done if you start with small, simple steps.

Cultivating a positive attitude can have a positive impact on your body and mind. ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING!

Personal Message From Tina

Tina McDermott (Inspirational Chef, Speaker & Weight Loss Coach)

I spent most of my life struggling with digestive issues – I didn’t understand that the embarrassing gas, bloating, constipation, and yo-yo weight gain/loss all were interconnected. I had these issues since I was a teenager and thought that it was just ‘the way it is’, and that I had to live with it.

Flash forward to my 30’s. I learned that I had Lyme disease, which had gone undetected for years and wreaked havoc on my body. Along with digestive issues, I also suffered from extreme chronic fatigue, depression, vertigo, fevers, weight gain and ultimately Hashimoto’s disease. I thought I was going through menopause at the age of 37!  I didn’t understand why all this was happening to me.

Privately, I was really suffering.

Parts of my life, however, were abundant and full. I was a successful nutritional consultant and personal trainer, happily married to my best friend, a doggie mom to three, and part of a large and loving Italian family.  Even though I was exhausted all the time, I still worked with my clients, cooked healthy foods, exercised as much as I could, and spent time with my family and friends.  Juggling of all this was not easy, but I was determined to have a joyous life.

The inspiration for my own wellness journey began when my older sister, Anna, was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 23. Cancer ultimately took her at the age of 48. Anna’s illness and suffering was a wake-up call for me to learn more about how to take better care of my own health, and help others as well…

It took me five years to finally figure out the way in which to be symptom-free. I now manage my wellness and weight naturally through food, fitness, and the right supplements.  Fast forward to 53, and going through menopauseI have learned to embrace the transition and go through it with grace and ease.

When home, I am busy cooking home-made, healthy meals for my family and friends.  I am an outdoor enthusiast and love bicycling with my husband, traveling, hiking, and playing and snuggling with my three dogs, Geddy Lee, Nala and Wolfgang, plus two rambunctious kitties, Monkey and Mickey.

My personal mission is to teach women about natural health and wellness, and how to live a healthier and happier life.  In my own journey to jouFULLness, I have also discovered powerful methods of releasing self-sabotaging beliefs and teach others how to come to peace with them.

Wishing you a healthy, Vibrant and Free Life!
