Luscious Hot Cocoa

Makes 1 cup chocolate syrup, enough for 6 to 8 cups of cocoa

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup water boiled water

  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1/2 cup KetoseSweet+ Liquid sweetener

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

  • 1/2 tablespoon espresso powder (optional and it gives it a really nice flavor)

  • Unsweetened Almond, coconut or whatever milk you like milk.

Directions:

Syrup Directions:

1.  Boil the water on the stovetop.

2.  In a heat proof bowl add the cocoa powder and salt then pour the boiling water over top whisking until combined. Let sit five minutes. Then add the Ketosweet, vanilla, and espresso powder and whisk to combine.

You can use the syrup  right away or just let it cool and transfer to an airtight container ( I use a small mason jar) and store in the fridge for 3 to 4 weeks.

Cocoa Directions:

1. Warm up the milk (1 cup or so per person) on the stovetop, add it to a mug and then stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons of your now favorite luscious cocoa syrup.

Now to make is super luscious!

Whip up 1/2 quart of heavy cream with 1/4 cup KetoseSweet until stiff peaks form.  Spread the fluff over parchment paper-lined baking sheet in 3/4 inch thick layer. Freeze overnight.  Then cut out squares, circles, even use cookie cutters to make fun shapes and then throw them into your hot cocoa and now it is luscious.

To store your luscious shapes make sure you freeze the rest in an airtight container between sheets of parchment for up to a week.
